March!

Almost 3!

It is finally March!  One step closer to Spring, although here in Michigan we could still be having snow 6 weeks from now.  This morning the sunshine was just streaming in the windows, and snow or no snow, I'll take it!  March also means we are officially in "Birthday Month" here in the Will household, with exactly half of our members celebrating birthdays in the next few weeks.  5, 3 and 1 are such big ages! I am ready for the 3 year old, but can't believe my little girl will be 5, or that my precious newborn could possibly be turning one.  The fact that he is walking and saying "Boo!" to people notwithstanding, of course.  We bought him his first ever cup this week, and the way he tosses back his head when he drinks is downright hysterical!

The dresses for the Girls' birthdays are finished, and the crowns nearly done.  I'm feeling a bit adrift in the project department - I need something to occupy me.  I like to change things up, so I'll work a bit on a sewing project for awhile and then move on to knitting, and then back and forth like that until I am finished.  I really wish someone would just have a baby who needs longies or sweaters or hats to keep me busy!  I decided to embroider words to remember on the quilt I am making.  I loved embroidery as a child and its so fun and relaxing to get back into it.

I'm writing in similar colors so the words are "hidden"

I've had somewhat of a breakthrough on the homeschooling front with my oldest.  I've realized that he remembers everything anyone has ever told him.  He is an auditory learner.  One of the benefits of homeschooling is being able to teach towards an individual learning style and not waste the time of the student on teaching in a way s/he simply cannot learn.  One of the challenges of homeschooling is teaching to a learning style that is different from your own!  I am realizing all the time that as individual as my children are, I am going to be stretched in many ways as I endeavor to school them all...but isn't that part of the fun?

Today we are making "banana chips" using a dehydrator that my mom had in her basement.  I'm excited to see how they turn out!  We'll be finishing up our first little house book and I promised the girls they could watch an episode of "Little House on the Prairie" that we borrowed from the Library.  All that and regular school, housework, etc.  Jonah is being a little clinger, so I'm throwing him in the Ergo and going about my life.  I don't know how anyone could ever be bored, there is always so much to be done!

Typical Monday mornin'
