Today's Giveaway comes from Marie Madeline Studio.
Marie-Madeline Studio is a family business run by Kristie Long and her four beautiful daughters. I stumbled across this company a few years back when shopping for fabric and was instantly struck by their family connection, radiant faith and commitment to professionalism. Their store is stocked with beautiful fabrics at excellent prices, but the true gems here are the patterns the Long ladies have created themselves. Just visiting their website has me itching to start new projects! It is extremely important to me to promote companies that promote family togetherness and entrepreneurship and I feel that this company embodies both of those qualities perfectly.
When did you start your business and why?
We started marie-madeline studio in December of 2007. Sewing has been a love of ours for many years, but it wasn't until we were making our own bags, and getting many inquiries about them, that we considered starting a business.
How has your decision to operate your own business affected your family?
Dad and our brothers know more about patterns and fabric than they ever dreamed possible!! Because we've been a family that has always been together, working together in a business has come as second nature. Until we moved our studio to another part of our house, things were a bit crowded and the kitchen counter was always covered in fabric. Now, however, we've spread out a bit, and things run a bit smoother in the household department.
What is the best part about working together?
Serving The Lord together! Spending every day together, Laughing, Sharing what we love, Bouncing ideas off of one another. We love one another and we love being together doing what we love to do. How blessed we are!!
What is your favorite fabric line?
This is difficult as we only buy what we really love. We all have different favorites at any given time. Right now we'd have to say...
Kristie---Dolly Dresses 2 and 3 and Flower Sugar 2
Apphia---So St. Croix, Dolce and Pretty Bird
Achaia---Poodle, Dolly Dresses 2 and 3, and anything Anna Maria Horner
Abigail---Love, Dance With Me and Poodle
Abiah---So. St. Croix and Love
Any advice for other families looking to start up a new business venture?
~Pray! Seek The Lord's guidance and ask for wisdom
~Be willing to change direction as you go along if necessary
~Start small---Think BIG!!
For today's Giveaway, Marie Madeline Studio is generously offering a free apron to the winner - completely customized in whatever fabric you'd like from their shop!
