Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

We pulled into the drive last night and breathed a sigh of relief. The grass is long, growing unencumbered during our absence. The garden is a mess of weeds and heavy laden plants (sidenote: need recipes for an abundance of eggplant!). The house has that stale, sad smell of a home with no one running in and out all day long.  Still, we are so glad to be home.

This past week has been mostly a blur, but during the long driving times and the few moments of quiet, I found a bit of rest.  A little bit of time to talk with my husband about some new pursuits, the fears and anxieties of what lies ahead and the goals we share.  A few moments to absorb some parenting truths.  Small snatches of time to close my eyes and turn my focus toward God and His plans for me at this time.

And so, I'm back...refreshed and ready to take on the next few months.  Armed with the peace found in those moments, I am drawing a deep breath and forging ahead.  The beginnings of the school year lie just around the corner, signaled by the touch of coolness in the late summer breeze.  I think I'm ready.

  3. I was, but just today went without it. I think Peter is right around 12 lbs and just seemed big enough. He's a pretty big guy for only 6 weeks.
