Just A Sunday
After church, gathering little ones and pulling on jackets, I caught her before she walked out the door.
"Mom - could we do family dinner today? I could bring some scalloped potatoes..."
She's got Jonah by the hand and nods - "Sure."
And so it goes. Just a Sunday spent with family. Multi-generational living at its best. Dinah helps Mom make a salad. Peter snuggles on the couch with Aunt Prisca. Jonah is happiest grill-side in the snow, following Grandpa around like a little puppy. I pull potatoes from the oven and stop for a moment to warm up by the wood burning stove.
So thankful for my Mom, a Mom who says yes - sure when I ask for just a Sunday spent with family. It was just what I needed.
