Something Big - A Request for Help

"I delivered the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to help him."  Job 29:12

I met Sandy a few years back at our homeschool co op.  I immediately knew that this was a very special woman.  At the time, Sandy and her husband Erik had five children - four biological and one beautiful boy she flew out to California to bring home.  After a year or so of knowing her, they brought home a sweet little girl from Florida.

Anyone who knows Sandy knows of her remarkable heart for children - ALL children.  From her gentle spirit with her own children to helping little ones in her co-op classes feel comfortable and safe, Sandy takes it all on with love and purpose that is surely God-breathed.  She is warm, happy, joyful and loving.  She is an excellent mother.

Last Fall, Sandy was overjoyed to have a baby placed with her for adoption.  As usual, she poured her heart and soul into nurturing this tiny blessing, and fell head over heels in love.  This time, however, God's plan was different and after 6 love-filled weeks, Sandy had to give the baby back to a Mama who changed her mind.  Sandy and her entire family were completely heart broken.  During that dark time, it was hard to see why God had chosen this path for their family.

"For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord....plans to give you a hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

The story is long (you can go here for all the ins and outs), but recently God has led Sandy and her family down a new path - a path to China, to adopt a 3 year old little boy they have named Darren Christopher.  Darren has a heart problem and is in desperate need for heart surgery as soon as possible.  His fingertips and lips are already turning blue.

This is the first international adoption that the Kreps family has attempted - and are finding out just how expensive it is.  It looks like it will cost around $30k to bring Darren home, something the Kreps are unable to do all on their own.

And now, I'm asking --

Will you help?  Save a little boy's life?

Will you help?  Place a child with a loving Christian family who will treasure him as their own?

You have my 110% guarantee that Sandy  is someone I know in real life.  Someone I would trust with my very own children.  Someone who would make a wonderful mother to this precious little boy.

Here's what you can do:

Donate - whatever you can.  A dollar, $5, $25, every little bit helps.  By donating below, your funds go directly to the Krep's family adoption fund.

Pray - for smooth sailing during the process.  That Darren remains healthy as long as possible.  For the transition period of bringing Darren home.  For the tender hearts for the Kreps family to stay strong during this process and trust in the One who makes all things possible.

Share! - please share this post, on your facebook, twitter, email, however you can.  Help us get the word out about this little boy who needs people like us to step in and help.

I know we can do this.  The bible calls each one of us to care for those less fortunate - some, by opening their homes and hearts such as Sandy and Erik do.  Others to give whatever they can to help.  Please prayerfully consider how you and your family may be able to help this precious child and special family come together.
