Winter Walk

Yesterday was warm, so after naps I took the little boys out for some much needed fresh air.

The sun was shining and the snow melting just enough to make really good snowballs very easily.  We dismantled our snowman, made plans to burn the Christmas tree this weekend, and did a bit of running and shouting and general "getting it out of our system."  After a week housebound with sickness, all 3 of us needed it.

Yes, Jonah insisted on wearing shorts with his red boots, and Peter wore shoes since I can't seem to find his boots, but at at nearly 50 degrees, I'd figure they would be just fine.  With no snow in the forecast and this warm up expected to continue through the weekend, I know the snow will soon be gone and replaced by great patches of less-attractive (and much messier) mud, and I'll be less enthusiastic about running around in the back yard.  But for just this afternoon in the warm sun with my two little boys, it felt good to take a deep, cleansing breath and let the cares of the past week melt away.

  2. I am not looking forward to the warm up this weekend, and on top of that we are getting rain all day tomorrow...it is going to be so messy.
