A Heart Full

{Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams today}

This week in making has been a bit less intense than the past few weeks.  I started an Owlie sleep sack for a friend who is having a baby, but I'm in no rush to finish.  Mostly, I've been churning out little hearts for everyone in anticipation of Valentines.  To give as gifts or hang around the house, these knit up in a heartbeat and use very little yarn, so I've been able to use odds and ends of scraps in my stash.  So much fun.  I made four while watching a movie with Jonah and waiting for a cake to bake, so quickly do these knit up.  And I'm pretty sure my entire family believes in magic now, due to the certain "magic" of felting.  It really is so fun to peer into the washer and find something similar, yet so different from what you put in!  We're enjoying stringing them up here or there or, if you are Peter, dumping them out and methodically putting them back into a little wooden bowl.  Lots of love here for wee little hearts...of both the felted and baked variety, of course.

In reading news (I haven't posted about reading in a bit, I realize...), a friend loaned me a book called "The House at Tyneford" and I read through it in no time at all.  It's a bit of Downton Abbey meets WWII, a story about a young Jewish woman from Austria who is sent by her wealthy family to work as a servant in a house in England to escape the Nazis.  Good stuff, fun read.  I definitely recommend it.

{Today is Ash Wednesday, so our family will be attending services this evening.  For some past reading of my thoughts on this day, you can find them here, as well as some helpful links from others:}

  4. Hi,
    I am a regular reader of your blog, which I love. I am also Jewish and wanted to let you know that the term "jewess" is considered very offensive and should never be used. It is similar to the "n" word. Here is a link to the free dictionary, if you are interested. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Jewess

    1. I am so sorry, I didn't know. It was actually written that way on the back of the book and I will remove it immediately. My apologies.
