Barefoot Books GIVEAWAY!

Today's Giveaway is Sponsored by Lydia Fink-Cox, an affiliate of Barefoot Books.

LJW: Tell us a little bit about the Barefoot Books company and why you decided to join as a WAHM:

LFC: Barefoot Books is an independent publisher of children’s books. It began with two mothers who wanted their children to have books that would capture the imagination, spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and instill a respect for the diversity of the planet and for the Earth itself. The founders, who had four children between them at the time, launched the publishing company out of their homes. This tradition of bringing family into work and working from home to stay family-focused has continued in the intervening 15 years through the Barefoot ambassador program, and is one of the reasons I joined the team last August.

The other reason I joined is, well, because of the books. I discovered Barefoot books a few years ago and fell in love with the unique illustrations and content. I also loved that many of the books came with a story CD. Many titles have “bonus” information as well; for example, an appendix to We’re Roaming Through the Rainforest includes details about the Amazon area, its native people, and all of the animals described in the book.

LJW: Tell us more about the books!

LFC: Barefoot books are engaging, beautifully illustrated, colorful, unique, and of very high quality. A range of fairy tales and story collections are available, as well as board books that teach basic concepts, and sing-along book and CD sets. A line of puzzles, games, and puppets are also available, as are world music recordings by Putumayo music.

LJW:What is your favorite book in the collection?

LFC:I cannot really pick one favorite book, but I can tell you that the illustrations in Octopus Opposites are remarkable. My 5-year-old has memorized The Story Tree (thanks to the story CD) and insisted that I buy her The Barefoot Book of Princesses. My 3-year-old adores Counting Cockatoos, which I bought for her first Christmas. Friends recommend Animal Tales and the Barefoot Book of Monsters.

LJW: Sounds great!  Where can we find out more?

LFC:  Please explore my Barefoot site to learn more about the company, the products, and what it means to "live barefoot!" I'm sure you'll find a gift to inspire the child(ren) in your life. Begin your barefoot adventure today at http://LydiaFCox.barefootbooks.com/.
