"Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done."
~Johnson Oatman Jr, 1897
Monday mornings always get me thinking about gratitude. With a wonderful whirlwind weekend behind me, I face down the brand new week and feel so incredibly blessed.
I've kept a diary since early childhood, but the past few years it has morphed into more of a gratitude journal. It is amazing to leaf through the pages and see, right there in black and white, God's grace and faithfulness to us.
Today, sharing a few things from this week. We are abundantly blessed!
Visiting with friends on a Saturday evening, a night too long in coming.
An unexpected phone call from my Mother in Law, always so great to hear her voice!
Thoughtful daughter surprising me by making my bed this morning
Words that speak straight to my heart and inspire me to work toward a change.
My beautiful niece, growing so much and charming me with her smiles!
Sunday evening game time with my siblings (even though my brother talks a big game!)
My cousin loaning me some lenses so I don't miss a moment
Wool in the mail
Husband surprising me with a new cd (my very favorite band from high school - the Cranberries)
Deep, soul searching prayer - Lent hitting home this year
Friends that inspire me to go deeper in my faith.
What are you thankful for this week?
(Joining Ann today in this refrain of grace...you're invited, too!)
Such beautiful pictures and a beautiful perspective.
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! I like getting wool in the mail, too! Beautiful photography and a beautiful list. Blessings to you this beautiful Monday as we count a multitude of blessings together for His glory!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely list of things to be grateful for. Wonderful pictures.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
That picture of your little guy -- half in shadow, half in light -- is absolutely delightful.
ReplyDeleteLittle Peter is so sweet! And your daughter is beautiful! I am also thankful for some family game time we had this weekend! Always such a welcomed joy! :)
ReplyDeleteOh... those beautiful smiles are just precious! Family game time is always so much fun. Wool in the mail... yay for good mail days! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post. Gratitude is such an important thing in life and in being happy! Lately I've been grateful to have a place to call home, although it isn't much, I'm just glad to have shelter and comfort. There is so much to be grateful for. Your quote made me think of a hymn in my church's hymnal called "Count Your Many Blessings" and I think you would like it!
