My blue eyed girl is a fanatic for all things blue. Blue dresses, blue popsicles, blue bracelets, blue blue blue. So when I saw this fabric line (Oliver + S "Cape Ann") that was so very perfect for a blue-crazed five year old, I knew it was just right for her main bedding quilt.
I chose this quilt pattern - although I decided ultimately to alternate the squares instead of making them in straight rows of like blocks. Instead of hand or machine quilting, I just did simple ties using embroidery floss at the center and corners of each block. The baking is light pink with white polkadots, and for the binding I used the leftover strips from making the squares.
I think it will do just fine. And Fiona appears to agree.
What are you working on these days?
