I don't have many words today. In this stillness before the rush of events tumble into the whirlwind that is Holy Week, I'm speechless. I'm feeling weighted, introspective and restive, hoping for a quiet day - as quiet as a home with 5 loud little people can possibly be. We'll be making Hot Cross buns for Good Friday breakfast - so thankful am I that my husband works for a company that recognizes this day and gives their employees the day off. I hope to sneak off to church tonight with my Dad. It will be good.
For now, lighting a candle and doing our bible readings. Have a blessed day, friends!

Beautiful moments. Have a blessed holy week.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, to remember to be quiet is always a challenge. The photo of your children from behind the tree branches is priceless.
ReplyDeleteI just happened upon them like that. It's those moments, all four bigs together, different ages and genders just quietly getting along - those moments that make all of this work so worthwhile!
DeleteYour hot cross buns look savory and sweet. I've seen them in the store, and this is actually the first time I've noticed them. It must be a thing! Gosh, where have I been? Does it break your Good Friday fast, though, to have them for breakfast?

Christie - in the past we have had them on Sunday instead, but with expecting a baby on Holy Thursday this year, I've felt the need to speed up some of our traditions just in case. We're not actually Catholic, so the fasting we do perhaps doesn't hold as much weight? I'm not sure. This year has been my most lax yet with Lent.
DeleteI love that photo of your kids behind the branches..that is priceless.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, especially the yummy looking hot cross buns!
ReplyDeleteNice photos; I hope you did have a nice day. A blessed and Happy Easter to you!
