Pride, Grace, and Bravery

Things don't always turn out the way you think they will. I know this for sure. Life is a series of steps and missteps, strivings and failings and successes and sometimes I wonder whether or not I say enough, or too much, or just enough to get by. I'm a people pleaser by nature, and that pesky sin of pride is probably the hardest thing I fight with each day. Weighing the expectations of so many differing opinions keeps me spinning in circles until I stop and remind myself - all that matters is what He thinks of me. And, so...

I'd be honored if you clicked this link and learned something new about me today. Something you probably knew already. Something I keep swept up and buried deep and buttoned in neatly so no one can see. But the thing about grace is that it tears through the facades of self-preservation we build for ourselves. You can only acknowledge the grace in your life once you're brave enough to acknowledge the failings that required it.

I'm not sure I'm brave. But I'd like to be.

Only after the above link was published did I realize that this song might just be the perfect fit. So turn it up, click the link, and glimpse a little piece of my heart.

All my love.

  2. My word for this year is "courage" - and thus far I have had to really really come clean w/ some hard stuff from my past... it takes courage and bravery, but mainly, it's just God telling us to relax in Him. Thank you for this post :)

  4. I tried to click the link to learn something new about you, but it just takes me to a place that wants me to install Wordpress. Is that right?
