Just a Regular Day

Just here, watching the person in my belly rock and roll, groaning at the messes Jonah makes, trying to keep Ben on track with school even as it is beautiful outside and everyone just wants to swing.  Wondering what pretty yarn will become and trying to convince the girls to keep their hair bound up and away to avoid tangles.  Really, just a regular day around here.

As we creep closer to the "due month" of this little one, I am making lists - things I'd like to have done before baby arrives.  Hopeful that this weekend is when we finally get the boy's bunk beds set up;  contemplating cleaning the basement, and making huge donations of clothing, toys and underutilized household items to our local Purple Heart.  I think my family is beginning to worry that I would just give it all away  if I could.  I have to say, an empty room is pretty appealing to me right now.  Who needs furniture?

Even as I am anxiously buzzing around with to do lists in my head and left on various surfaces around the house, I'm trying to remind myself to slow down and appreciate the right now:  These last few weeks with our four child family.  Jonah's last few weeks as "baby."  Midnight spring thunderstorms sending four year old into my arms.  Quiet, easy days where nothing much is required of me besides a few loads of laundry, a cup of coffee and working through the piles of yarn that accumulate as if by magic.

And so, I am off.  Have a beautiful day!

  1. I love the pics of your regular day. Especially the belly pic. Only 12 weeks along with #4, I look forward to that rocking and rolling too. :) Thanks for sharing your day. It's beautiful.

  2. You have a beautiful family and wonderfully comforting messes. Reminders we are not alone, eh? Hugs. I envy your wombling and all the promises with him/her. Enjoy, momma!
