Snowstorm Sweater

Well, we're still stuck inside.  I've been out once since church on Sunday, and that was to remove a child from a tree (yes, a tree) that she had become entangled in when trying to climb it to leap into a pile of snow.  Apparently it's just not cold enough for these kids to forgo snow play.  It is, however, cold enough for me to be quite thankful that my husband is the one who heads to work each morning, and my job is to make sure he has hot coffee in the morning and warm supper waiting when he gets home each night.  I'm quite content to hunker down and just wait this weather right on out.

Thankfully there are piles of yarn in here and, with the internet, any knitting pattern I can think of right at my fingertips.  I got started on Rosie's cardigan for Spring.  It's the Sunnyside Baby cardigan and I'm actually following the mods to make it more "boyish."  The yarn is Stroll Tonal in Thunderhead.  I knit this sweater once before for a friend and have been wanting to make one for Rosemary ever since.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to hold off giving it to her until her birthday (in early April), but it's light weight and I'm thinking just the thing to throw over a dress for Easter or any day in the Spring where she needs just little bit more warmth.  I'm planning on making her one of these dresses for her birthday, so it may all work out just right.  (Did you notice my "stitch marker" above?  Am I the only one who uses a paperclip if I can't find anything else?)

As for reading, I've finished the first chapter of a book I was given for Christmas, "Ten Ways to Destroy the Imagination of Your Child."  Wow.  It's convicting.  And inspiring.  And it is going to take me a while to make my way through, as each paragraph gives me so much to think about and process.  I can just tell it is going to be so good.

Linking up with Ginny today.  What are you working on?

  2. Your WIP sweater looks beautiful! I've been doing much of the same. Staying in, reading, and knitting or crocheting. It's been kind of nice and cozy.
