Ten

Ten.  A decade.  Double digits.  It seems hardly real that this day has finally come.  I woke up and my first thought was one of complete amazement.  Then I simply could not stop smiling.  That someone has loved me day in and day out for 10 long years, given me 6 beautiful babies and has put up with me being, well, me...it's  nothing short of a miracle.  And a blessing.

In ten years I've learned that love doesn't have as much to do with flowers or chocolates or romantic comedies so much as it does service, commitment, faithfulness and hard work.  I start his coffee while he gets ready for another day at the office, another day of serving his family, and I know what love is.

Today, I'm celebrating a marriage that is better than I could have ever hoped for.  A daily testimony of God's grace.  A daily practice of putting ourselves last, and finding something more amazing than either of us could have ever anticipated in the process.

Here are a few of my posts on married life from the past few years.

Not sure where that time goes, exactly, but I don't wish to go back. These days are pretty wonderful!

    Have a precious day remembering........

  5. What a beautiful post - and what a triumph to celebrate. The commitment of marriage gets so much lip service in the political arena these days that I think we forget to acknowledge and lift up what is core to this calling: that two people commit their lives to each other, completely and challengingly. This is what is truly counter-cultural in our culture, and what you've captured so personally here. Thank you for making me even more happy to see my own better half again tomorrow after two long weeks apart. :)

  6. Happy Anniversary! It's incredible how time goes and lives change.... mostly for the better. I find with 2 babies under our feet, it makes us cherish our time that much more!
